For the meatballs
1 kilogram Ground beef
5 grams ginger
2 tsps Curry
2 onions
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
4 Tbsps Yogurt (0.1% fat)
salt (pepper)
4 Tbsps vegetable oil
For the tomato sauce
450 grams Tomatoes
2 Red chili peppers
4 garlic cloves
2 tsps sugar

Preparation steps

For the meatballs: peel ginger and chop finely. Peel onions and chop finely. Heat oil in a pan and saute onions until soft. Combine ground beef with onions, ginger and yogurt, season with cumin powder, salt and pepper. Make small meatballs out of the mixture with damp hands. Heat oil in a pan and cook meatballs, few at a time, until golden brown on all sides.

For the tomato sauce: blanch tomatoes in hot water and rinse in cold water, peel and chop finely. Rinse and dry chile peppers, halve and remove seeds and ribs, chop finely. Peel and finely chop garlic. Combine both with tomatoes and simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat, season with sugar, salt and pepper. Arrange meatballs on plates and serve with tomato sauce.
