Preparation steps

1.

Rinse the chard, cut into strips and blanch in boiling salted water for about 2 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

2.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Grease a baking dish with butter.

3.

Cut the sausages into 1 cm (approximately 3/8 inch) thick slices and place half in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Cover with half of the chard. Cut the mozzarella cheese into cubes and mix with the grated Emmentaler cheese. Whisk the eggs and milk together until smooth and stir in half of the cheese mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Cut or tear the rustic rolls into small pieces and place in the baking dish. Pour the egg mixture on top and cover with the remaining chard and sausage slices. Bake for 20 minutes, remove from the oven, sprinkle with the remaining cheese and continue baking for 15 minutes.

4.

Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly and serve.
