- 8 Sausage
- 3 tart Apple
- 3 Red onions (cut into wedges)
- 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
- 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 Red wine
- 2 Tbsps whole-grain Mustard
- 2 tsps tomato puree
- 1.333 cups hot vegetable stock
- To garnish
- fresh rosemary

Normal Cooking: Follow the recipe from step 2 (placing the sausages in a baking dish) to the end of step 6. Cook in the oven 200C| 400F| gas 6 for about 40 minutes until the sausages are cooked and the apples are soft but not mushy.

Preparation steps

Preheat the slow cooker if necessary – see manufacturer’s instructions

Heat the oil in a frying pan (skillet) and brown the sausages, but don’t cook. Put sausages into the slow cooker pot.
3.
Add the onions to the pan and fry for about 5 minutes until soft. Add the garlic and fry for 1 minute to soften.
4.
Sprinkle the flour over and stir, then add the wine, mustard and tomato puree. Stir in the stock.

Pour the mixture over the sausages.

Core the apples and cut into wedges. Place in the slow cooker pot, pushing them under the liquid.
7.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours until the sausages are cooked and the apples are soft but not mushy.
8.
Garnish with fresh rosemary before serving.
