- For the scones
- 500 grams Pastry flour
- 2 tsps Baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 100 grams soft butter
- 300 grams Yogurt (0.1% fat)
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 Tbsp minced rosemary
- For the topping
- 300 cream cheese
- 350 grams smoked Salmon (thinly sliced)
Preparation steps
1.
Mix all ingredients together, except yogurt. Begin to knead to form a dough and add yogurt, as needed, to reach desired consistency. Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1.5 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thick. Cut out 15 equal squares, brush with beaten egg yolk and bake on the middle rack in a preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F). Bake until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
2.
Remove scones and let cool. Cut each scone in half. Top each scone with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Garnish with rosemary and serve.
