4 eggs
cup milk
2 Tbsps caster sugar
¼ cup butter
6 slices slightly stale Bread (cut into small heart shapes)
For the bananas
2 Tbsps butter
2 slightly under-ripe Banana (sliced)
2 Tbsps honey
1 Tbsp water
ground cinnamon

Preparation steps

1.
Beat together the eggs, milk and sugar in a shallow bowl.

Heat a little of the butter in a frying pan until it foams.
3.
Dip each piece of bread in the egg mixture, soaking both sides. Soak the bread in the mixture for a few seconds, turning over until each side is well coated.
4.
Place 2 bread slices in the pan and cook on both sides until golden and crisp. Repeat with the remaining butter and soaked bread. Set aside and keep warm.
5.
For the bananas: heat the butter in a frying pan and add the bananas. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side.
6.
Whisk together the honey and water. Remove the pan from heat and pour the honey mixture over the bananas. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
7.
Place the French toast on serving plates and serve with the bananas.
