Nutritional values

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, an antioxidant that protects the body from free radicals. This plant substance is said to lower the LDL cholesterol level in the blood, a risk factor for ateriosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. Tomatoes also score points with potassium, which can regulate high blood pressure.

If you would like to enjoy the dish low in carbohydrates, replace the spaghetti with zucchini pasta.
