2 Tbsps scallions
2 Tbsps finely chopped parsley

2 slices cooked ham (thick slices, trimmed of fat)
4 slices Gruyere
1 Tbsp butter (for the baking dish)

Preparation steps

Peel potatoes and cut in half lengthwise. Mix the herbs with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle potato halves on the cut surface with about 2/3 of the herb mixture and press it down slightly.

Set 8 potato halves in a buttered baking dish with cut sides facing up. Cut ham and cheese slices into quarters. Place 1 slice each cheese and ham on the potato halves. Then top each with the other potato half. Add the butter in small pieces over the potatoes, season with salt and pepper and bake on the center rack in a preheated oven 200°C (approximately 400°F) about 12 minutes. Serve sprinkled with the remaining herbs .
