- 1 garlic clove
- 1 kilogram waxy potatoes
- ½ l milk
- 50 grams Double cream
- salt
- freshly ground pepper
- 150 grams grated Gruyere
- butter (for greasing)

Preparation steps
1.
Peel the garlic. Rub a casserole dish with the garlic and then grease it with butter. Rinse and peel the potatoes and cut into very thin slices. Layer the potato slices in the baking dish.
Whisk the milk with the cheese and the double cream and season with salt and pepper. Pour over the potatoes so that they are just covered.
2.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350ºF) for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
Serve hot.
