- 9 ozs lean Ground beef
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 carrot (chopped)
- 1 roasted Red pepper (drained)
- 14 ozs canned Plum tomato
- 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 7 ozs Spaghetti
- To garnish
- Basil

Preparation steps
1.
Fry the mince in a non-stick skillet for 15 minutes, until browned

Heat the oil in a large skillet, add the onion and fry gently for 5 minutes, to soften.
3.
Tip in the carrot with the onion and cook for 5 minutes to soften.

Chop the pepper and add to the carrots and onions with the tomatoes and juice from the can and add to the pan, and cook for 5 minutes more.

Tip the tomato mixture into a blender and whiz together until smooth.

Add the tomato sauce to the mince and add the Worcestershire sauce. Add 100ml/ 1/2 cup of water, stir, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
7.
Meanwhile, bring a large pan of salted water to the boil, add the spaghetti and cook according to pack instructions, for about 10 minutes, until al dente, tender with a slight bite.
8.
Drain the pasta and divide between 4 plates. Top with the mince mixture and garnish with basil leaves.
