Preparation steps

1.

Mix the flour with the sugar and a pinch of salt creating a mound on the work surface. Make a well in the center, beat the egg and pour into the well. Spread the butter in small pieces around the mound. With your hands, quickly process all the ingredients into a smooth dough and form into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

2.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

3.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough 0.5 cm (approximately 1/8 inch) thick and cut out stars. Knead the remaining dough, roll out again and cut more stars.

4.

Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Remove and allow to cool on the parchment paper.

5.

Mix the powdered sugar with the lemon juice to make a smooth frosting and decorate the cookies with it. Sprinkle with minced candied orange, let the frosting dry and serve.
