Ingredients
- For the dough
- 20 grams Yeast
- 400 grams Pastry flour
- salt
- For the topping
- 150 grams Sour cream
- 150 milliliters Whipped cream
- 1 egg
- freshly ground peppers
- 5 onions
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
- 350 grams marbled Smoked bacon (sliced)
- vegetable oil (for baking pan)
Preparation steps
For the dough: dissolve yeast in 200 ml (approximately 3/4 cup) of lukewarm water, combine with flour and 1 teaspoon of salt and knead into smooth dough which leaves sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until dough doubles in bulk (for about 40 minutes).
Butter one or two baking sheets.
Knead dough on a floured surface and make 4 patties about 26 cm in diameter (approximately 10 inches). Arrange on baking sheets.Whisk sour cream with cream and egg until smooth, season with a little salt and pepper. Spread onto patties.
Peel onions and cut into rings. Heat oil in a pan and saute onions for about 5 minutes. Season with some salt and pepper. Spread on the patties.
Cut bacon into wide strips. Arrange on top of onions and bake in preheated oven at 220°C (approximately 425°F) for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve.
