- For the meatballs
- 300 grams ground pork
- 200 grams Veal sausage
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- ½ tsp Cumin
- 1 onion
- 2 Tbsps chopped parsley
- 1 Tbsp Mustard
- 2 Tbsps toasted chopped almonds
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsps breadcrumbs
- 100 milliliters soybean oil
- Pastry flour (for the work surface)
- For the tomato sauce
- 750 grams peeled Tomatoes (canned)
- 1 onion
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp Curry
- 50 grams dried, soft Apricot
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp Mustard
- salt
- peppers
- chopped parsley (for garnish)
- roasted slivered almonds (to sprinkle)

Preparation steps

For the tomato sauce: Peel and onion and coarsely chop. Sauté in oil with tomato paste and mustard. Season with curry, sugar, salt and pepper, add tomatoes and mash contents of pot. Cut apricots into strips, add to sauce and cook for about 15 minutes.

For the meatballs: Peel and chop onion, sauté in butter and stir in parsley. Add ground beef to bowl and knead into meat batter with onions, parsley, sausage meat, egg, bread crumbs, almonds, mustard, cumin, salt and pepper. Form balls about 5 cm (approximately 2 inches) each and roll on floured work surface. Heat oil in a pan and fry meatballs for 5-7 minutes on each side. Serve on top of tomato sauce and garnish with sliced almonds and parsley.
