Ingredients
- For the meat patties
- 300 grams mixed Ground meat
- ½ onion
- 20 grams butter
- ½ kaiser roll (from the day before)
- 1 egg
- salt
- peppers
- 3 Tbsps vegetable oil
- For the braised cucumbers
- 750 grams Braised Cucumbers
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
- ½ lemon (juice)
- 2 Tbsps Mustard
- 200 grams Whipped cream
- 2 Tbsps chopped parsley
- 1 pkg Mashed potatoes
Preparation steps
For the meat patties: Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat the butter in a skillet. Add the onion and cook until translucent. Soak the bread in a bowl of how water. Squeeze the excess moisture out of the roll and add to a bowl. Add the ground meat and onion, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until thoroughly combined. Using moistened hands, shape the meat into small patties. Heat the oil in a skillet. Cook the patties until golden, about 6 minutes per side.
For braised cucumbers: Peel the cucumbers and remove seeds with a spoon. Thinnly slice the cucumbers. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until translucent. Add the cucumber, lemon, mustard and 1/2 the cream, and season with salt to taste. Bring to a boil over low heat and cook for 5 minutes until the cucumbers are soft. Stir in the remaining cream.
For the mashed potatoes: Cook the potatoes according to the package instructions.
For serving: Serve the meat patties with the mashed potatoes and braised cucumbers. Garnish with parsley.
