Preparation steps

Rinse, trim, and halve the cabbage. Heat 1 liter (approximately 1 quart) with the salt, sugar, and vinegar. Divide the cabbage into prepared jars, then pour the hot liquid over it. Seal tightly.

Turn upside down, and let cool. Place in a dark place for one week prior to using.
