600 grams Kohlrabi
½ bunch Basil

1 Tbsp lemon juice

Preparation steps

Rinse the basil, pluck the leaves from the stems and set some aside for garnish. Peel the kohlrabi and cut into thin slices.

Grease a baking dish with butter and line with a layer of sliced kohlrabi. Top with some basil, season with a little salt and pepper and then place another layer of kohlrabi on top. Drizzle with some oil, add some basil and season will salt and pepper before adding another layer. Repeat until all ingredients are used.

Mix about 50 ml (approximately 3 tablespoons) of water or broth with the lemon juice and pour over the gratin. Cover the pan with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, remove the parchment paper, sprinkle with Parmesan and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

Serve garnished with basil. Pairs well with meat or fish.
