Preparation steps

1.

Rinse the tomatoes, remove the stalk, and cut the pulp into thin slices. Drain the mozzarella and cut into thin slices. Rinse the basil, shake dry and coarsely chop the leaves.

2.

Toast the slices of bread in a preheated oven at 250°C (fan: 230°C, gas mark 5) (approximately 480°F) briefly until crispy.

3.

Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, and form 8 flat patties from it. Fry the patties in a skillet in hot oil from both sides for 2-3 minutes. Shortly before the end of cooking, put a slice of mozzarella over each patty.

Spread four slices of bread with the pesto and alternately place the fried patties and tomatoes over. Season the tomatoes with a little salt and pepper. Finally, sprinkle with the basil and cover the burger with remaining bread slices.
