Preparation steps

Rinse the strawberries and cut into pieces. Bring the strawberries, sugar and 400 ml (approximately 2 cups) of water to a boil. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring often. Remove from the heat and cool slightly. Pour through a cloth-lined sieve. Bring the syrup back up to a boil and add the lemon juice. Pour into jars, seal tightly and let cool before serving.
