Herbed Bread Toasts
Do you still have old bread and know nothing to do with it? Then try the bread chips from EAT SMARTER! Refined with homemade herb butter, they are ready in no time and contain less fat and sugar than conventional chips.
The delicious homemade herb butter made from firstragon, chervil and parsley gives the bread chips a spicy, aromatic taste with a sweetish-tart flavour, but you can vary it with the herbs! For example, chives also go well with chervil and parsley.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the herbs, lemon juice and garlic over low heat, season with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the baguette into 2 mm (approximately 1/8-inch) thick slices. Lightly brush both sides of the bread with herb butter and place on the baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 10-15 minutes, turning the bread over halfway through.
