800 grams starchy potatoes
2 egg yolks
2 Tbsps Pastry flour

4 Tbsps Corn oil
20 grams butter
3 onions
250 milliliters Red wine

Preparation steps

Boil the potatoes in salted water, peel and press through a potato ricer. Let cool down. Add the yolks and the flour and process until smooth. Season well with salt and pepper. With floured hands mold cakes about 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thick. Heat oil and butter in a pan and bake cakes on both sides for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Peel the onions and cut into rings. Heat some butter in a pan and cook the onions until soft. Pour in red wine, add sugar and season well with salt and pepper. Reduce by approximately half.

Serve as desired with mixed salad or sauerkraut.
