1 Pot mit Deckel, 1 Skillet mit Deckel, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Peeler, 1 Sieve, 1 Mortar, 1 Garlic press, 1 Citrus juicer, 1 Salad bowl

Preparation steps

1.
Whisk the egg whites with 1 pinch of salt until stiff. Gradually add the sugar, whisking continually until glossy.

Save 5 tablespoons of the egg white mixture for the frosting.
3.
Combine the almonds, spices and blackcurrant jelly, then fold into the egg white mixture. Heat the oven to 300°F (150°C).

Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the nut mixture on a lightly sugared surface to 1/4 inch (about 8 mm) thick. Use a star cookie cutter dipped in water to cut out the stars. Place the stars on the cookie sheet and coat each star with some of the egg white mixture. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for about 15 - 20 minutes. The meringue tops should remain white. Transfer to a rack and let cool.
