The essential oils gingerol and linalool contained in ginger are good for the stomach. They alleviate complaints such as abdominal cramps, constipation, and flatulence. The mineral mix of magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium in the banana is pure soul food due to its positive effect on nerves and muscles.

This tasty dessert can easily be refined with a little crunch. For this, roughly chop a handful of almonds or walnuts and spread them over the portions. You can achieve even more creaminess by using coconut milk instead of cow's milk. This also makes the ice cream suitable for vegans.

Preparation steps

Drain lingonberries and collect all juice. Combine cream and sugar in a saucepan and heat until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool, stirring. Add yogurt and 1 tablespoon of collected juice into cream mixture (use remaining use juice otherwise.)

Cover and put into the freezer. For the first 2-3 hours, stir every 30 minutes vigorously with a fork. Once ice cream is half frozen, add drained lingonberries. Return to freezer and freeze for 2-3 hours. (Alternatively, prepare ice cream in an ice cream machine.)

Peel pears about 1 hour before the end of freezing ice cream. Peel and grate ginger. Combine apple juice with ginger in a saucepan and heat, add pears and simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes. Cool.

Halve drained pears crosswise and arrange in 4 plates (one pear per bowl). Place ice cream around and serve.
