- 3 Asian pears
- 1 pc fresh ginger (about 4 cm in length)
- 2 Limes
- 50 milliliters Lime juice
- 100 grams sugar

Preparation steps

Peel the ginger and finely grate. Rinse the lime in hot water, and remove the zest with a sharp knife. Cut the zest into thin strips. Squeeze out the juice of 2 limes. Boil the sugar with 500 ml (approximately 14 ounces) of water, the ginger, lime zest, and half of the lime juice. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Peel the pear, and remove the core with a corer. Cut crosswise into thin slice, and drizzle with the remaining lime juice and the hot syrup. Let marinate for at least 2 hours. Serve, garnished with thin strips of lime zest.
