- 200 grams Dried Fruit (e.g. apricots, prunes, raisins, figs)
- 250 milliliters Apple juice
- 150 grams chopped Nut ( e.g. hazelnuts, almonds, pine nuts)
- 200 grams liquid butter
- 6 eggs
- 175 grams sugar
- 200 grams Whole wheat flour
- 250 grams Rye flour
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- 1 pinch ground Cardamom
- 2 Tbsps cocoa powder
- Fat (for greasing)
Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 175 ° C (approximately 350 ° F).

Cut the dried fruits into small pieces and soak in the apple juice.

Separate the eggs and beat the egg yolks with sugar and butter until fluffy. Add flour, nuts, drained fruits, cocoa, cinnamon and cloves into the egg yolk mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold into the batter.

Grease a loaf pan and sprinkle with flour. Pour in batter. Bake for about 1 hour. Bread is done when an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven, cool and slice to serve.
