Endives Wrapped in Ham
Rinse and trim the endives and cut out the stems. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the endives for 3 minutes. Lift out, rinse with cold water and drain well.
Heat the butter, dust on the flour and sauté briefly. Pour in the milk slowly while stirring. Add the cheese to the sauce, dissolve over low heat and season with salt and pepper.
Grease a baking dish with butter.
Wrap the endives in the ham and place next to each other in the dish. Pour the cheese sauce over them and bake in the oven at 200ºC (approximately 400ºF) for 15 minutes.
