Preparation steps

1.

Rinse asparagus, remove 2 cm (approximately 1 inch) from end and peel lower third. Cut asparagus stalks in half crosswise. Blanch in a pot of boiling salted water for 5 minutes, drain, rinse under cold water and drain again. Pat dry with paper towels. Wrap each asparagus stalk in a ham slice and place in cups or on a platter to serve.
