Ingredients
250 grams Glutinous rice flour
250 grams sweet Lotus seed paste
50 grams white Sesame seeds
1 l vegetable oil (for frying)
How healthy are the main ingredients?
Sesame seeds

Preparation steps

1.

Mix the glutinous rice flour with 100 ml (approximately 1/2 cup) of hot water until a smooth dough forms. Allow to cool 10 minutes while kneading until the dough is elastic. Form a rope about 4 cm (approximately 1 1/2 inch) in diameter. Cut off 10 equal pieces. Cover with a damp cloth. Form each piece of dough into 8 cm (approximately 3 inches) disc shapes, the edges should be slightly thinner.

2.

Put 1 teaspoon of lotus paste in the center of each. Put the dough up around the filling, close gently and form into balls. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on a plate. Heat the oil in a wok. Moisten the balls with water and roll one at a time in the sesame seeds. Carefully place them in the oil and fry about 3 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
