- 1 kilogram Cornelian cherry
- 100 grams Elderberry
- 1 Vanilla bean
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 3 cloves
- 1 ½ liters Cherry brandy
- 400 grams brown sugar

Preparation steps

Sort through cherries, remove stems, rinse and drain. Pierce cherries with a fork. Rinse and sort through elderberries and let drain. Split vanilla bean lengthwise. In a dark glass jar, combine vanilla bean with cherries, elderberries, sugar and spices. Pour in kirsch.

Store mixture at least 4 weeks in a warm place. After aging, strain liqueur through a coffee filter. Descant liqueur into bottles and seal tightly. Store liqueur up to 6 months in a dark, cool place. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
