Preparation steps

Rinse and quarter the cabbage. Remove the core and outer leaves. Cut into bite-sized pieces. Boil in salted water for 10-12 minutes, until al dente, then rinse and drain.

Sauté the bacon in the butter until golden brown, 1-2 minutes. Add the broth, cream, and peppercorns. Simmer until reduced by half, and then add the cabbage to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes, and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
