- 2 kilograms Pork ribs
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
- 100 milliliters Beef broth
- ½ Orange (juice)
- ½ lemon (juice)
- 4 Tbsps Ketchup
- 1 Tbsp hot Mustard
- 2 Tbsps soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp ground paprika
- 1 Tbsp ginger (chopped)
- salt
- Tabasco sauce
- freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps
1.
Rinse spare ribs, pat dry and place in a pot. Cover with boiling water.
2.
Peel and halve an onion and add to pot along with a clove of garlic. Simmer about 30 minutes.
3.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
4.
Peel and dice remaining onion. Add onion to pan. Press garlic through a garlic press into pan.
5.
Add broth and orange juice and simmer until sauce has reduced somewhat.
6.
In a bowl, mix reduced sauce with ketchup, mustard, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
7.
Stir in paprika, lemon juice and ginger. Season with salt, Tabasco and pepper.
8.
Transfer ribs to a rack and place on a baking sheet.
9.
Brush ribs with barbecue sauce and broil, watching carefully and brushing frequently with sauce, 15-20 minutes.
