Ingredients

For the dough
400 grams Pastry flour
1 packet Dry yeast
75 grams Sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
1 pinch Salt
2 Eggs
250 milliliters lukewarm Milk
100 grams Walnuts
50 grams Apricots
100 grams Hazelnuts
For preparing
1 Egg yolk
per 2 tablespoons whipping cream, pine nuts and Sunflower seeds

Preparation steps

For the dough: Combine flour and yeast in a bowl. Knead in sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, eggs and add milk. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Chop walnuts. Mince apricots.

Place dough on a floured surface. Knead in hazelnuts, walnuts and apricots. Divide dough in thirds, roll out each portion into a long log and braid. Place braid on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and press ends well. Let rest for 10 minutes.

Beat egg yolks with cream and brush onto dough. Sprinkle with sunflower seeds and pine nuts. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 35 minutes. Remove, let cool slightly and serve warm.
