For the dough
250 grams Pastry flour
1 tsp Baking powder
125 grams sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
1 egg
125 grams butter
1 Tbsp water
For the filling
1 kilogram Apple
2 packets Instant pudding (vanilla flavor)
750 milliliters Cider
250 grams sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
500 grams cream
cocoa powder

Preparation steps

1.

For the dough: Combine all dough ingredients and knead into a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic and chill for 1 hour. Press dough into a greased springform pan. Prick dough several times with a fork.

For the filling: Peel, quarter, core and julienne apples. Spread apples onto the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon. 

3.

Prepare pudding mix with cider, sugar and vanilla sugar according to package instructions. Pour pudding over apples. Bake in an oven preheated to 170°C (approximately 350°F) for 60 minutes.

Remove from over and let cool for at least 1 hour, or overnight. 

5.

Beat cream until stiff and spread onto pie. Dust with cocoa powder and serve.
