150 grams powdered sugar
150 grams Marzipan
4 centiliters Rum
200 grams finely ground almonds
100 grams blanched, whole almonds

Preparation steps

1.

In a bowl, beat the eggs whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form. In a separate bowl, stir the marzipan with the rum until smooth. Fold the marzipan mixture and ground almonds into the egg whites. Knead into a soft dough and chill for 30 minutes.

Preheat a convection oven to 160°C (approximately 320°F).

Shape the dough into small, round balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet with some distance between. Lightly flatten the cookie dough balls and add a halved almond. Bake until light golden, about 15 minutes. Remove from oven, cool completely and serve dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
