Steak with Mushrooms
Ingredients
- For the steak
- 1 Sirloin steak (about 2 kg and 4-6 cm thick)
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 tsp Garlic salt
- 100 milliliters sunflower oil (heated)
- For the mushrooms
- 800 grams button Mushroom
- 6 Tbsps Worcestershire sauce
- 80 milliliters sherry
Preparation steps
For the steak: Sirloin steak is best cooked in the oven. Rinse meat briefly under cold water and pat dry. Grind pepper, garlic salt and rosemary in a mortar and season meat with the mixture. Place on the grill in the roasting pan and brush on all sides with hot butter.
Cook steak at 200-225°C (approximately 400-425°F) for 10 minutes per each centimeter in thickness (approximately 1/2 inch), turning over each 10 minutes.
For the mushrooms: Clean mushrooms with paper towels and slice. 10 minutes before the end of cooking, spread steak with mushrooms and sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce and sherry. ,
Turn off oven and let steak rest for about 5-10 minutes in an open oven.
Slice steak across the grain into finger-thick slices and serve with mushrooms and resulting sauce. Serve with salad, if desired.
