- 26 ozs damson (pitted and halved)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 2 Tbsps sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups 2% milk
- 2 Tbsps kirsch (optional)
- 2 Tbsps sliced almonds
- To decorate

Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Lightly butter a 1.75 litre pie or baking dish.

Arrange the damsons in the dish, cut side up.
3.
Sift the flour into a mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre and whisk in the eggs, sugar, salt, milk and kirsch (if using). Whisk until smooth.
4.
Carefully pour the batter over the damsons. Scatter with the flaked almonds and cook for 30-45 minutes until golden and set. Dust lightly with sugar while hot.
