500 grams bread dumpling
400 milliliters lukewarm milk
1 shallot
1 Tbsp butter
2 eggs
1 handful finely chopped parsley
salt
Nutmeg
freshly ground peppers
breadcrumbs (as needed)

Preparation steps

1.

Place the croutons in a large bowl and pour the lukewarm milk on top.

Peel and finely chop the shallot. Sauté in butter until translucent. Let cool and mix into the milk soaked croutons. Mix in the eggs and parsley and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix in additional milk or croutons if the mixture seems too thick or wet. Form the mixture into 8, uniform dumplings using wet hands.

Boil the dumplings in a pot of boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.

Remove with a slotted spoon and serve.
