400 grams Puff pastry dough
Pastry flour (for working)
1 egg yolk
100 grams grated Emmentaler cheese
1 tsp Sesame seeds
1 tsp Poppy seeds
1 tsp Caraway
salt

Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400ºF).

Place the pastry on a lightly floured work surface and roll out to 2-3 mm thick (approximately 1/10 inch).

Mix the egg yolks with 2 tablespoons of water and brush the pastry with it. Shower the pastry with cheese, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, caraway and salt. Fold over once and roll out again. Brush the surface again with egg yolk and cut into about 1.5 cm wide strips (approximately 1/2 inch). Twist the strips into spirals and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.

Allow to cool before serving.
