Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 220°C (200° fan) 425°F gas 7.
2.
Divide the oil between 6 deep ovenproof cups and put into the oven to become smoking hot while you make the batter.
3.
Put the flour, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl.
4.
Beat in the eggs until blended, then gradually beat in the milk until smooth.
5.
Pour the batter into the hot cups and bake for 10-15 minutes, until well risen and puffy.
6.
Serve with butter and jam.
