1 Red cabbage (1.2 kg)
300 grams Cranberry
1 onion (50 grams)
1 tart Apple
2 Tbsps Lard
100 milliliters Red wine vinegar
salt
peppers
1 pinch sugar
¼ tsp ground cloves
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp finely chopped parsley

Preparation steps

Rinse and sort cranberries.

Rinse, trim and quarter cabbage lengthwise. Remove core and cut cabbage into thin strips. Peel, core and dice apples. Peel and finely dice onion. Heat lard in a pan. Add cabbage and onion and sauté until softened. Add vinegar and 100 ml (approximately 1/2 cup) water. Stir in apple and spices. Cover and simmer about 45 minutes. Stir in cranberries 15 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Serve sprinkled with parsley.
