Puff Pastry Rolls with Sausage Stuffing

- 500 grams Sausage meat
- 1 onion
- 1 Red chili pepper
- 1 carrot
- 1 Tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- salt
- 1 pinch ground cilantro
- 1 pinch ground Cumin
- 300 grams Puff pastry dough
- 1 egg
- light Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Preparation steps
Place sausage meat into a bowl. Peel onion and chop finely. Rinse and halve chile pepper, remove seeds and ribs and cut into thin slices. Peel carrot and grate finely. Add onion, chile pepper, carrot and parsley to meat, season with salt, ground coriander and cumin powder and mix well.
Roll out puff pastry until about about 40 x 24 cm in size (approximately 16 x 10 inches) and cut into 2 rectangles about 12 x 40 cm (approximately 3 x 16 inches). Place filling into each rectangle, leaving 1-2 cm edges (approximately 1/2 inch). Beat egg and brush edges with half of it. Roll up, pressing the edges firmly (if desired, with a fork). Cut rolls into 8 cm (approximately 3 inch) long pieces and arrange on a lined with parchment paper baking sheet. Brush with remaining beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
