- 800 grams large waxy potatoes
- 1 stalk Leeks
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 150 grams smoked Pancetta
- 400 milliliters Whipped cream
- salt
- freshly grated Nutmeg
- freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

Peel the potatoes and thinly slice lengthwise. Trim the leek, remove the tough green parts, cut the white part in half, rinse thoroughly and cut into 1 cm (approximately 1/3 inch) wide strips. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large frying pan and sauté the potatoes for 2-3 minutes. Cut the bacon into 1 cm (approximately 1/3 inch) thick strips and add to the potatoes along with the leek. Grease a baking dish with the remaining butter and fill with the potato mixture. Season the cream with salt, nutmeg and pepper. Pour over the potatoes and bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes.
