Ingredients

for

For the steaks
4 Pork saddle steaks (each about 150 grams)
salt
freshly ground peppers
1 tsp oregano
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp butter
For the tomato sauce
2 onions
1 garlic clove
2 Tbsps olive oil
1 sm can peeled Tomatoes (400 grams)
1 Tbsp Tomato paste
salt
freshly ground peppers
2 Tbsps Olives

Preparation steps

For the tomato sauce: peel onions and garlic and chop. Heat oil in a pan and saute both until translucent. Add tomato paste, tomatoes with their juice and puree briefly with an immersion blender, season with salt and pepper and simmer for about 15 minutes. Add olives and season to taste.

For the steaks: season steaks with salt and pepper. Heat butter and olive oil in a large frying pan and cook steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, season with oregano.

Arrange steaks with tomato sauce on plates and garnish, if desired, with fresh oregano leaves. Serve with french fries, if desired.
