2 bunches Basil
3 garlic cloves
3 Tbsps Pine nuts
olive oil
100 grams freshly grated Parmesan
Sea salt

Preparation steps

Cook the penne in boiling salted water until al dente.

For the pesto, rinse and dry the basil. Remove the leaves from the stems. Peel and coarsely chop the garlic. Toast the pine nuts in a dry pan until golden brown over medium heat. Remove from the heat and let cool. Add the basil, oil, pine nuts, garlic, and half of the cheese into a food processor. Puree completely, until the pesto has your desired consistency. Season to taste with salt.

Drain the pasta once cooked. Transfer to plates, and top with the pesto. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and garnish with the basil.
