2 Limes (juice)
400 milliliters white wine
2 tsps ginger
1 pinch Saffron
4 Pear
2 Tbsps sugar

Preparation steps

Peel pears, leaving stems on, and immediately sprinkle with lime juice. Dissolve sugar in a glass of water, add ginger and saffron and heat 1-2 min at low heat. Add wine and pears, cover and cook about 10 min. until the pears are soft but not disintegrating, occasionally baste with the marinade.

Remove pears and let cool. Boil to reduce the sauce to half, strain through a sieve into a bowl and let cool also. Serve pears with a little syrup on plates.
