- 1 garlic clove
- 12 green Olives
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 can peeled Tomatoes (250 grams) (approximately 9 ounces)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 fresh Tomatoes
- cayenne pepper
- 2 Basil

Preparation steps

Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely. Halve the olives and pit.

Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic until softened. Add the peeled tomatoes, olives and sugar, season with salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes over low heat. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente.

Cut an "X" in the base of each tomato, blanch in boiling salted water, peel and cut in half. Remove the seeds, cut the pulp into small cubes and add to the sauce. Season with cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Drain the pasta and toss with the tomato sauce. Arrange on a large serving bowl and serve garnished with basil leaves.
