2 kilograms Oranges (yields approximately 1.2 liters of juice)
1 centimeter ginger
500 grams jam sugar (3:1 ratio)

Preparation steps

Rinse the oranges. Remove the zest from 3-4 of them, and julienne into 1-2 cm (approximately 1/2-3/4 inch) pieces. Halve the oranges and squeeze the juice from them. Mix the juice with the julienned zest and mix. You should have 1250 ml (approximately 1 1/4 quarts) combined.

Peel and finely grate the ginger. Mix everything with the sugar, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 4 minutes, and then fill your prepared jars to the brim with the mixture. Seal tightly, and let cool.
