This compote makes for a delicious snack when paired with flatbreads or wholegrain crackers.

Ingredients

3 ¼ cups onions (peeled and sliced)
2 Tbsps raisins
½ cup Red wine vinegar
1 red chili pepper (seeded and sliced)
2 Tbsps honey
salt
½ tsp Turmeric
2 cloves
1 tsp ground allspice
freshly ground peppers

1 Pot, 1 Bowl, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Fine grater, 1 Whisk, 1 Salad spinner

Preparation steps

1.
Put the onions, raisins, vinegar, chilli and 125 ml of water in a pot. Bring to a boil.
2.
Stir in the honey, a little salt, the turmeric, cloves and allspice. Simmer gently over medium heat, while stirring, for approximately 20 minutes.
3.
Allow to cool and season with salt and pepper.
