¾ cup butter

1 egg yolk (beaten)
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda

1 Skillet, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Fine grater, 1 Citrus juicer

Preparation steps

Heat the oven to 190°C (170° fan) 375°F gas 5. Line a large baking tray with non-stick baking paper.

Beat the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and creamy. Beat in the egg yolk.
3.
Sift in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt and stir until blended. Stir in the oats until well mixed. Chill for 30 minutes.
4.
Drop teaspoons of the mixture, well apart onto the baking trays. Gently flatten them with the base of a floured glass.
5.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden. Cool on the baking trays for 3 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
