For the meatloaf
3 slices white bread
1 onion
1 tablespoon hot mustard and butter
parsley
500 grams mixed Ground meat
1 egg
1 tsp thyme
salt and peppers
1 tsp Hungarian sweet paprika
thyme (for garnish)
For the cabbage
500 grams Green cabbage
1 each garlic clove and onions
2 Tbsps clarified butter
2 tsps Pastry flour
100 milliliters milk
150 milliliters clear Broth
salt and peppers
1 pinch Caraway

Preparation steps

For the meatloaf: Soak bread in lukewarm water. Peel and mince onion. Heat butter and cook onion until golden. Rinse parsley, shake dry and mince leaves. Combine minced meat, egg, mustard, onion, squeezed bread, parsley and thyme. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (approximately 350°F) for 45-50 minutes.

For the cabbage: Rinse and dice cabbage. Peel and dice onion and garlic. Heat ghee. Add cabbage, onion and garlic and sauté for 6-8 minutes. Dust with flour, deglaze with milk and broth. Cook for another 15 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and cumin.

Remove meatloaf from pan and slice. Serve with cabbage.
