Preparation steps

Peel the apples and cut out the core. Bring about 600 ml (approximately 2 1/2 cups) of water and sugar to a boil in a saucepan while stirring. Cook for about 5 minutes until bubbly. Rinse the mint and pluck off the leaves. Add the apples to the saucepan, then remove from the heat.

Infuse for about 15 minutes, remove the apples from the syrup and pour into a glass container. Add the mint to the syrup. Bring the liquid to a boil again and pour through a sieve over the apples so that they are completely covered. Cover the container and leave to cool. Refrigerate until ready to serve, up to 1 week.
