You will need 10 Lollipop sticks for this recipe

Preparation

Kitchen utensils

1 Cutting board, 1 Peeler, 1 Small knife, 1 Citrus juicer, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Plate, 1 Small pot, 1 großer Pot mit Deckel, 1 Small bowl, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Steamer basket, 1 Kitchen shears, 1 Aluminum foil (extrastark)

Preparation steps

1.

Heat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Line 2 large baking trays with non-stick baking paper.

2.
Beat the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until very soft, light and fluffy. Gradually add the egg, beating continuously.
3.

Sift in the flour and cornstarch and mix well to form a fairly firm dough.

4.

Knead lightly, then roll out the dough thinly on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 20 rounds, using a 6.5cm / 2-1/2" plain cutter.

5.
Carefully sandwich two rounds of dough with a lollipop stick in between. Using a palette knife, place the biscuits onto the baking trays and chill for 30 minutes.
6.
Bake for 15 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
7.
For the icing: sift the icing sugar into a bowl and stir in enough hot water until thick enough to coat the biscuits. Put half the icing into a small bowl and add the pink food colouring.
8.
Spread the white icing over the biscuits. Pipe the pink icing over the top as desired.
